What to Expect

Sessions with a craniosacral therapist are client-led. The sessions emphasize bodily sensation and awareness, which can lead to internal resourcing for personal growth.

What you can expect during your BCST session.

Working with you.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a non-invasive treatment, meaning any resolutions that occur within these sessions happen only when the clients system is ready to do so.

Understanding your goals.

During a session the client can expect to be laying, or sometimes sitting on a treatment table covered with a blanket or a sheet. Sessions are performed fully clothed and start with a brief conversational check in to get a sense of where the client is in their healing journey. Initial sessions have a longer check in as health history is discussed, but all sessions will communicate around the clients current process and goals.

Light, responsive contact.

The therapist will make light contact with the client, usually starting at the feet or shoulders. They will be able to get a sense of restrictions within the body and move to different areas based on what presents itself in session.

Experience & effects.

The client’s experience can vary from session to session and each time the therapist approaches in an open, neutral way allowing new expressions to emerge. Feeling safe and comfortable is of utmost importance, as such, during a session the therapist will check in with the client, and it is encouraged that the client feels free to give feedback to the therapist. This builds a baseline of trust and allows sessions to go deeper.
